Dear Director, We want to help promote your dance/drill team to
high school seniors and juniors! Many
girls are totally unaware of the vast opportunities for scholarships, special
performances, and travel you have to offer them!
ShowTime International will sponsor the National College Dance/Drill Team
Auditions.
Enclosed is the registration information and itinerary. A poster is being mailed to high schools across the country. If you are planning to attend, please complete the registration and return it to the ShowTime office TODAY! We want to help you, and of course the students who are in attendance, but we can't if you're not there! We are very excited about the dual opportunities this audition offers. Not only will it provide high school juniors and seniors with the chance to be seen by college and university directors, but it will make your yearly search for talented, energetic new dancers more efficient and enjoyable! Something new this season: We will be holding a dance competition the same day at the very same location in Houston and would love for your team to perform or even compete with us! Simply let us know of your interest and we'll add you to the schedule right away. The other participants would be thrilled to see your team perform! At the Audition, you will receive background information about each girl in order to make your selection process easier. You will also receive a list of every girl in attendance, along with her address and phone number for your follow-up. Prior to the audition, each college director will make a five minute speech to the entire group of participants. This will be your opportunity to highlight the characteristics that make your team and school special. You will have the chance to visit personally with each girl during the booth exhibition time and distribute information about your team/school. I would suggest that you definitely have information about your tryout date and requirements, along with any scholarship information, college catalogs, applications, photos, financial aid, trips and travel, etc. ShowTime is aware of your hectic schedules, and if you are not able to personally participate in the NCDDA, please don't miss the opportunity! We encourage you to send officers, squad members, or even an alumna that you feel will best represent your school and team. A few colleges were represented this way last year. If your team will not be represented, we encourage you to pass along this information to the person in charge of high school recruitment. It is of long term importance to us and to you to do everything we can to help these dancers continue their education and be involved with high school and university dance/drill teams. There is absolutely no charge for your participation in the National College Dance/Drill Team Auditions. We are delighted to have your presence and happy to put you together with girls who are interested in a college team. We remind you that your involvement with the NCDDA in no way obligates you to accept any of the performers that participate in the audition, and we are not suggesting that this take the place of your own auditions. We are simply offering you the chance to see and meet prospective members of your squad. We look forward to working with you through the NCDDA! If you have any questions, please call. Sincerely, Shana Housewright, Executive Director ShowTime International |
